Here it is: my messy, but also cozy workspace these days, working from studio at my new-ish home base in Huntsville, AL. What the photo doesn’t show is the copious amounts of perky chipmunks and squirrels outside of my window that provide a nice visual break from the screen; and a glimpse of the mountain through the raging nature doesn’t hurt either.
At this point I’ve been drawing professionally for over 15 years. It took me a while to come to the editorial and children’s illustration, and I continue to learn and work on developing my artistic and business skills as I go.
Here I’ll be gathering a personal collection of what I’ve learned so far, as well as sharing my creative process, and giving a glimpse into an everyday life on a freelance illustrator slash a mom of two little kids (spoiler alert - it’s chaos).
Welcome!
p.s. And yes, I keep my laptop on top of the thick sketchbook. It’s my paranoia after one of my dogs spilled a full glass of water all over the table (he jumped on it to investigate the snack situation).
