Children Arts // Illustration, Puzzles & Play
In 2022, in collaboration with Children Arts, a Ukrainian nonprofit initiative producing and freely distributing activity and coloring books for children displaced by Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, I developed a 16-page activity book designed to bring moments of creativity, comfort, and play during an incredibly challenging time.
Created for children ages 9-11, the book combines illustration, puzzles, drawing prompts, and educational activities. I developed all interactive elements from scratch, including logic puzzles, word games, creative challenges, and step-by-step drawing activities, while also creating the full-color cover and black-and-white interior artwork.
The project aimed to provide children with an opportunity to engage in creative play, imagination, and learning while offering a brief respite from the realities of war. It required balancing storytelling, age-appropriate challenges, and print accessibility to create an engaging resource for young readers.
