Apollo 11 Anniversary

Here is an illustration I came up with to celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 crew landing on the Moon on July 20th, 1969.

I wanted to portray a few key elements from those memorable hours that our astronauts spent on the lunar surface: the Lunar Module’s landing site (the famous “The Eagle has landed!” moment), the first steps, playing around with the lunar gravity, exploring the area and taking photos, the planted flag, “Columbia” orbiting the Moon, and last (but definitely not least) the view of the Earth (at that point of time the astronauts could see the bit with Africa and Eurasia).

If you’d like your own copy, I’ve added some products to my Society6, Design by Humans and RedBubble stores. Here are few of my faves:

Biker tank & Tote bag from Society6

Sweatshirts and Hoodies from Design by Humans

Poster & Notebooks from Society6
